Do ya'll think Doug McDermott can play some PF in the league? That would be a deadly small line-up.

If Thibs had Iggy, Barbosa, Lee, Livingston and Speights, you don't think he would play them? :usure:
:stopitslime:

The Cavs were playing their smaller lineup a lot in the Bulls series and Thibs still found a way to trot Noah out there for far too long. It's indefensible, and it was literally either 4 on 5 or even 3 on 5 offensively when Kirk was in the game with him. Thibs concept of an adjustment is doing the same thing that's not working and just telling the guys to execute better.

:mjlol:

Bogut goes from starter, to playing 3 minutes...

I don't give a fukk what Thibs was trotting out there. Kerr made adjustments because he has the personnel to work with. Thibs didn't. The Warriors wouldn't even be in the Finals right now if they had the Bulls second unit. If the Bulls had Iggy, Livingston, Lee, Barbosa, Speights and Ezeli since the start of the season - this thread wouldn't exist until a week from now.

The Bulls were one of the deepest teams in the NBA all year. I'm sure their bench production/usage was high all year, but when the playoffs came around, Thibs couldn't figure out how to use it. Some of that is on the players, but some of it is on the coach as well... when a guy is giving you nothing, you can't keep playing him. Kerr benching Bogut is a prime example of this.

The Warriors have a great bench, but the Bulls bench was good for them all damn year.

You're making excuses for Thibs. Yes the FO definitely could have been better over the years, but I'm just not going for the narrative that the Bulls didn't have enough to beat this depleted Cavs team. Especially when I've seen the bench contribute all season long when they got playing time.

I would assume so. but thibs would never be bold enough to bench :noah: like kerr did bogut. and a move like that was sorely needed given how poorly he played the entire season and post season when it was clear that a noah/gasol frontcourt combo wasn't working at all.

Like I said just said, Kerr did that because he had the personnel. What is so hard to understand? You really think Kerr would've led the Warriors to the point where they're now with Gibson, Mirotic, Snell, Moore, McDermott, Nazr, Hinrich and Brooks backing up the starting 5? Of course not.

when it comes to bigs, thibs had the personnel. noah was terrible, and he kept trotting him out there. despite the fact that the combo of pau with niko or taj was waaaaaayyyyyy more effective. you know good and well thibs would NEVER make that move. cuz he proved it all season that he wouldn't.

And what happened when the playoffs came around? The Bulls two best bench players shat the bed. You gonna blame that on Thibs too?

If Pau didn't injured, there's a good chance we wouldn't even be having this conversation right now. If Pau didn't get injured and Thibs had the Warriors' second unit, there's a 99% chance we wouldn't be having this conversation. You can fine tooth-comb every detail or potential missed opportunity Thibs could've taken in the playoffs, it still wouldn't have made a difference. I don't know how many times I need to say this before it sinks in, NO COACH was winning a title with this team this season. It's as simple as that.

I don't even know why yall gotta bring up Thibs anymore [salting the wound], he's gone. Just move on. :manny:
