been tellin people Barry has made cacs go INSANEAnyone watching cnn just heard this weirdo cac make a sex comparison to obama's speech?
.
http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/alex_castellanos_obama_sotu_like_sex"I think I've said before that I think a speech by Barack Obama is a lot like sex. The worst there ever was is still excellent, and I thought he gave a very competent performance tonight," he said during CNN's post-speech coverage.
It should be the power of our vote, not the size of our bank account, that drives our democracy.
That’s why I’ve imposed prudent limits on the use of drones
Finally, let’s remember that our leadership is defined not just by our defense against threats, but by the enormous opportunities to do good and promote understanding around the globe – to forge greater cooperation, to expand new markets, to free people from fear and want. And no one is better positioned to take advantage of those opportunities than America.
My fellow Americans, no other country in the world does what we do. On every issue, the world turns to us, not simply because of the size of our economy or our military might – but because of the ideals we stand for, and the burdens we bear to advance them.

I'd bet money this cac watches cuckold porn
This is really a poor attempt to justify making an actual critique of policy points. My comments had nothing to do with whether or not you believe these things can get done (which would be unfair any way because he's never had a moment where he's said he's use an executive order and didn't), it's about mediocre critiques of the content. There is a big difference between "I don't think anything will get done"--where @acri1 is at (as am I) and calling it "empty rhetoric." (@Serious) It may be partially hopeless rhetoric but far from empty. With that type of attitude how do even expect to know if something will or will not bring about actual results . Why in the world are you all sitting here using broad strokes arguments instead of looking at exactly what he has set out to do in the context of what he's capable of doing and how it will effect policy...a speech's content doesn't matter if the audience has no faith in the person making it.
this was possibly obama's best SOTU speech
im not saying it will in any way please a card carrying communist, but as far as american politics go, he hit the center-left wing points he needed while not pissing off the dumbass registered independents who ultimately just end up voting for one of the two established parties even though they think they are so hardcore. for progressives, he did mention some moderate use of executive powers, though he was not hitting republicans as hard as i would like, but i have long since learned to not expect that. i also like the frankness about obamacare bipartisanship. i think republicans wont even bother opposing obamacare in any significant way going forward. this looks like a turning point. i rate this speech an A in terms of political impact for his most important legislation.
the first republican response was much better than the swagless jindal and rubio, but it was devoid of substance. she seems like a nicer version of a middle aged republican woman with a down syndrome son, but that alone is not enough to make me think republicans have any answers for the serious questions of our times. i rate her speech a C+
Why is Cathy McMorris addressing women about the need for better jobs, health care, and education? Didn't she hear from the Democrats that women are only concerned with getting free birth control and getting their fukk on????
yeah bro I didn't know if you completed your masters yet or not, but I remember talking with one of my buds who's in administration straight up asked if I knew anyone with an advanced degree in Math. The Job started off at like 65-70k a year with full benefits....
It's teaching though
Pres. Obama started the speech stating what he has done buying some credibility for his speech. That is part of the reason his speech was effective in the first place.
@Type Username Here what say you on this? This is really a poor attempt to justify making an actual critique of policy points. Isn't this supposed to be HL, aren't you supposed to be able to debate at a level a big higher than the disaffected and disinterested person on the street....
Instead of trying to figure out what things like the MyRa savings new suggestion that he mentioned in this speech are, or whether it sends the correct signal to the Democratic Party or will start the correct national conversation....we're upset because none of the things he said he needs Congress to do are likely to happen. No wonder whenever I post threads that talk about how regulations are working, etc....they all flop...come on fellas.
@Type Username Here what say you on this?
Never mind then. I was just trying to instigate.I actually don't disagree with him on most of what he said. I recognize the opposition's unwillingness to help and I understand there is a procedure to follow. I just think sometimes he and other Democrats use it to push centrist or moderate policies from the start. The negotiations happen on one side before being presented to the other side.
That's not really my problem with this Administration though. My main problems are actions independent of Congressional gridlock. When it comes to this, the speech was absolutely filled with empty rhetoric here and there.

Brehs tell me this isn't the trillest response to the SOTU address:I actually don't disagree with him on most of what he said.
