Both Meltzer and John Pollock of The LAW called it the best G1 ever.

This is the first one that I've watched intently and found something I enjoyed damn near every day.

How does it measure up to you, puro brehs? :jbhmm:

Genuinely confused at dudes online who get mad at Raw for not being G1 quality, as if WWE and NJPW put out the same products and you should chose one or the other, instead of being able to enjoy both for what they do differently.

That said, the main event NJPW style has increasingly become full on see how many crazy bumps and strikes you can take, and it's wearing on me. You watch any of the Kenny matches in the G1, 90% of the Okada matches, and it's full on just dangerous spots/strikes non stop. Something like Natio/Omega in the finals in WWE or TNA would be shyt on so hard for being a nonsense spotfest, but because it's NJPW and had a hot crowd it is 30 stars. The entire match was crazy head bumps with no story whatsoever. And I'm a big fan of Natio and have come around on Kenny in big matches, but their finals match was a stunt show, not a wrestling match.

It's basically getting late 90s AJPW and early NOAH levels of over the top dangerous spots for a whole match and tour.

Went back and watched the last couple of days before the finals and Naito/Tanahashi mighta had the GOAT trilogy of matches this year :jamesbanderas:and Okada/Omega 3 is definitely their best match to me but Kenny still needs to learn to work at a slower pace, he gets to frantic in there.
