As a casual fan, can someone explain to me why there were so many faction changes at KOPW? Like is this an annual thing?

Nope, it hasn't happened in a long ass time. At most, new factions would arrive with new people in it. The only stable to have angle and swerves was the Bullet Club. For the past 7 years or so the statu quo of factions has been pretty stagnant in terms of big changes that involve a large group of people changing sides.

Okada said in his promo after the axs show how much stronger Kenny is now makes sense Ibushi isn't kicking out of it in 2018 as much as I think he should have the belt.

I wouldn't get caught up on the name. Yes, it's basically a new faction that will probably (and FINALLY) break/re-name another one (CHAOS)
