NJ mayors, lawmakers call for tightening of bail rules
Five years ago, NJ enacted a law that essentially did away with cash bail, only keeping those accused of a crime in jail if they were deemed a threat. After a recent increase in gun violence, some mayors and lawmakers are reconsidering that law. Newark Mayor Ras Baraka and other elected leaders on Tuesday called for reform that would keep people arrested on gun charges behind bars until trial

I didn’t even know that he was black. But yeah he’s very right wing on everything from police to affirmative action.
I'm never going to apologize for forming and voicing my opinions.
If I post something that personally offended somebody, I'd apologize. If I posted things I don't believe to troll, I'd apologize. Other than that, I'm free to speak.

My first comments about Affirmative Action here were years ago. Since then, there have been several developments, including the voters of California voting against Proposition 16.

Go back and look at my first posts about the way the wind was blowing on this issue, and tell me what was inaccurate.

My consistent comments about policing have been about tracking national and local criminal, justice system reform.
Here
New Jersey AG announces Police Reform measures

And here, for example
Cariol's Law passes in Buffalo, NY -POLICE REFORM

This thread is a continuation of that. Elected officials are making real time decisions reacting to real life events. Not a think tank study or a social experiment, but protecting the public safety of human beings. And responding to things that threaten that safety.

Will track and update A2426

This is a very polarized political and social climate. Unwittingly, people slip in echo chambers and may dismiss those who don't agree with them, write them off as "the other side". That doesn't change the facts on the ground, though. It never does.

how does doing away with cash bail benefit Society?
How doesn’t it?

And how is no cash bail leading to the crime surge? There is no study done on it.

It’s the same as you and your fellow Derek Chauvin supporters complaining about the summer of 2020 protests and calling for more funding.

Being a bat shyt reactionary is actually destroying society, so stop it.

All this catch and release BS is leading to the crime surge

i seriously want to know how does it benefit society if someone commits a crime and since they don’t have the means to bail out, they’re released.

@mastermind I’m convinced this guy is a cop or something related to law enforcement.
