Honestly, Nipsey might have been a greater man than a certain 90s rapper he's being compared to.
NIPSEY was NOT a disrespectful dude on records. He didn't beef with anyone. He literally used every change he could to speak on the betterment of black society.
I’ve literally been contemplating this all day.
I can’t even sit here and front like I bumped Nips music all the time.
It was always “I need to check brehs shyt more than I do.”
But I was definitely a huge fan of the man and his message.
I watched his interviews more than I played his music because he always was talking some super real, intelligent shyt.
One of the knocks I always had on Big was he never talked anything of substance in his music.
And as far as Pac, he tried to talk the same black empowerment stuff but he was battling a lot of demons and a love for the negative side of street life.
Nip on the other hand kept the same message in his music from the moment he got in the game, stayed solid and actually did damn near everything he said he would do.
He was also super certified in the most notorious set in LA but never glorified the negativity and pushed black unity the entire time.
For me personally, I rank him above Big and Pac as a man and I will be introducing my son to some of his music and interviews.
Typing all this is fukkin me up.
This shyt really hurts like I lost a friend..
Edit: I just reread my post and realized I do have to be fair to Big and Pac.
They was both still hella young when they transitioned and was robbed of the chance to see their 30s and possibly step into their full potential.
