Now that the hoopla has died, sad to see this but pretty numbing-he was gunned down by someone he knew while on a regular course for his day in his own turf/area. Not sure how famous he was but good luck to his family. I know quite a few cats who banged but gave back/tried to educate youth on the dangers of banging and ended up getting taken out. RIP.

It’ll be a challenge. My worry is that as fukked up and traumatic as his murder was it’ll make people put their heads in the sand more. Better to saturate your space with safe bullshyt instead of facing real life reality shyt.

I’ve actually been plotting on creating a collective with all of the other Black owned bookstores in the country to share info and support. Everyone is overworked tho, me included, I just keep blasting “I don’t stress” and “The Weather” and push on. I gotta do it.
