I'm still in amazement from yesterday. I woke up just reflecting at something so great for a nikka so young.

I'm sad Nipsey had to go like he did but goddamit...when he went...HE fukkING WENT.

Why're you all operating under the assumption that all of us act the same? Plenty of us don't act like we're from the gutter. I hang with many black men, and none of us use the term "nikka." And I am fairly certain all of them would be just as offended by YG's behavior as I and others are. It's not "whining" to expect better of our people, especially at an event like this, which was paying respect to a man of such integrity and achievement.
i said nikkas all around america

i never said “we all act the same”

those types of people didn't have to watch but they wanted to for whatever trendy reason. they need to stay in their place as guests. its not about your expectations its about the friends and fam.

as an outsider, you don't come into a celebration as a guest and be offended at the culture. it's just as classless as whatever yg did :francis:

This is like Rick Ross dying when Deeper Than Rap came out :wow:

Dude was taking off something serious :wow:

The elevation of content, the evolution of awareness, the shift in consciousness, the maturation of lyricism, etc :wow:

Ross became a different artist after Deeper Than Rap.

Ross would later basically focus the non-single songs of his albums on mature music for people who wanted deeper themes of enlightenment and introspection...I don't think people understand what we really lost in Nipsey.

He was FINALLY getting it. You saw glimpses on the run up to Victory Lap...but Nipsey was FINALLY proving he figured it out.

Ross finally learned to stop chasing mainstream music on this album and tapped into his core fan base, focused on business, learned to start putting gems in the music and evolved into the sort of guy who drops random mixtapes like BLACK DOLLAR focused on black solidarity and empowerment...

in my opinion the profanity wasnt a big deal...but having the ignorant mentality which gave way to having some of the convos you mentioned in the first place is the issue:manny:

if somebody is ignorant so be it. but you cant fault ppl for condemning the igorance

:gucci:

everybody speaks "ignorantly" around their friends. that's the purpose of having friends you can say anything around and having someone that can just laugh at your dumbass instead of policing you. you mean to tell me you and your friends kick it on some cornell west michael eric dyson shyt everytime ya'll kick it?

:comeon:

get the fukk outta here breh.

I cried whem blacc Sam was speaking man ....
I saw Sam on a couple of YouTube videos a few years ago and he instantly became one of my favorites. I wish he would speak more. You can tell he is a smart, cool dude, that has a edge where you wouldn’t want to try to fukk him over. A street dude that doesn’t try too hard and isn’t afraid to be himself. Seems like a natural leader.

I’m rooting for his success in the future. I hope his legal troubles work out.

The funeral was heavy no doubt. But watching that procession in real time was soooooo crazy. I watched the whole thing. I had the chopper view on my iPad, the crowd in front of the marathon store on my firestick on Youtube and I was on and off themarathon's IG live feed. the procession changed up the energy so much. I'll never forget it.

cacs in the helicopter not getting it but still being on some :ehh: :gladbron: shyt

the whole city lining up on some :myman: :salute: :blessed: shyt

people chasing the hearse just to touch the casket one last time

the flowers being thrown

the bikes busting wheelies alongside the hearse

it was almost like nip was riding on the top of that shyt

like i said it turned from a nightmare to a dream and i'm only partly sad now.

now i'm just motivated to get it and live life to the highest capacity. it almost makes me not even fear death to some degree.
