Going up there and acting as he did, which included the liberal use of the term, certainly does mean you're acting like you're from the gutter and have no respect for black people.

There's two things I took from watching the funeral

Musicians on the real have more power to influence people than any politician in the world. It's a massive responsibility to be in a position like Nipsey was when u got a whole community watching your grind for motivation. Most artists waste this following and influence .. Look at the new crop of rappers, huge followings but nobody really saying shyt.

The other thing is man I need to start reading books again .. I kept hearing that nipsey always had books with him all the time, this motivated me to get back on this. So many gems out there to be found, little bites of quotes or info that could change ur life.

Last thing is I need to get my fukking money up, I'm 6 years younger than nip but ain't done shyt in life really in terms of purchasing investments, I've earned well but I ain't got shyt to show for it.

This all needs to change... Thanks nip :takedat:

YG did too much, but he also just spoke on real convos he and nip had, most of them were talking directly to nip, that was their last chance to do so before he’s “really gone”

And do you feel the same about Sam and his language? :sas1:

Some of y’all choose the wrong moments to act like judgmental uptight cacs. Stop quoting me

Damn Bigger Than Life messed me up this morning. I run through the Marathon tape alot, but I hardly listen to this song because I cut it off after I Don't Give fukk finishes.

But I was zoning so the track kept playing, and listening to the lyrics like I never have before. shyt really got me:mjcry:.

Can't believe he's is permanently gone. Everything surrounding the past 2 weeks have been so surreal.

Might be one of my fav tracks from him.

Why're you all operating under the assumption that all of us act the same? Plenty of us don't act like we're from the gutter. I hang with many black men, and none of us use the term "nikka." And I am fairly certain all of them would be just as offended by YG's behavior as I and others are. It's not "whining" to expect better of our people, especially at an event like this, which was paying respect to a man of such integrity and achievement.

Everyone mad at YG for keeping it a buck.

So we really gonna pretend that pretty light skinned girls don’t get more attention from young street nikkas?

Look at 90% of the chicks in rap videos for the past 25 years.

It’s not right be it’s real..
i aint mad. but he a clown :manny: just listened lol

that's the thing about the internet that's annoying. he was speaking on actual conversations between him and his friend. he just shared insight with the world and now he's being dragged for it. that was his friend and i'm sure they talked about all kinds of shyt that wouldn't be PC or "right" in any perspective. That's how you talk with your friends and people close to you. it's clear to me that the internet is a cess pool of cognitive dissonance and you can't argue with people because people come on here to escape every aspect of actual reality to live in a fantasy of their own making.

Norfeast groovin…
No one is idolizing anything, but yes, there was cursing and n bombs from multiple people...as well as a pastor making McDonalds analogies. :yeshrug:

You seem to have a problem with certain types of people being their authentic selves. You think old folks from their neighborhood, in their fam don’t curse, or use the word nikka? Or At minimum, that they haven’t heard the younger people in their family do that?

Some of y’all be really funny style, I ain’t curse in front of my granny but I used all sorts of slang when talking to her, it’s not beyond me to know that folks who grew up in a grittier environment would use even more graphic language with fam of all ages.

Finally, Nip’s g’ma knows and has heard his music, harsh language isn’t a surprise, his mom was riding out to his music in the procession. YG’s speech wasn’t the best, but he was just talking about his boy in a real way, as everyone did

All this.

So that excuses this illiterate c00n going up on stage, during a memorial being watched by hundreds of thousands, and carrying on like that? Stop making excuses for sambo behavior.

Not all black people, no. My dad graduated from MIT and my mom Harvard, so it's nothing but black excellence, black dignity, black self-respect where I am. While perhaps not as academically accomplished, their parents were just as dignified and didn't act like they were from the gutter. Snoop gave an amazing speech, so I won't fault his periodic use of the term "nikka," which amounted to less than a handful of times. YG's behavior was embarrassing. :francis:
You call a young Black man an “illiterate c00n and Sambo” yet are offended by harsh and degrading language?

Okay breh

I don't really care what YG said and think the outrage is dumb

But @Bolded :comeon: really? Ya Exaggerating a little much breh. LS Black women don't dominate shyt like that. There's tons of vids featuring brown/dark skinned BW

in my opinion the profanity wasnt a big deal...but having the ignorant mentality which gave way to having some of the convos you mentioned in the first place is the issue:manny:

if somebody is ignorant so be it. but you cant fault ppl for condemning the igorance
