Norfeast groovin…
I feel you homie......Jesus Christ it's just greatness sometimes you just gotta embrace it.

Like real shyt, some of the things he’s talked about has directly related to my life. Having to tune out everyone else in order to live in your purpose. When life’s pressures get to you it’s hard to be focused unless the stakes are as high as they were for Nip or people from his background.

So songs like this really hit home for me.

Smh. nikkas really slept (almost typed sleep smh) on Nip as a lyricist. Couple that with how the bars touch your soul and drove you to wanna get out there and go after it. Bar none, easy. People tried to write cuh off as just another West Coast nikka talking that bangin' shyt but he had bars for real and some dope ass schemes and flows when you really get down to it.

First time I heard Nip was on Wale mixtape folorian on "Chun li".......after his 16 I was like who in da fuq was that!!! "So I get back to the money, say I'm acting funny
Face everywhere, thank God I ain't ugly" bars i was like this man not playing games! I'm a New Orleans nig so usually west coast sound/emcee not my cup of tea. That verse made me download all his shyt and I wasn't disappointed.

Absolutely his music straight up was motivation it also helped people like us that come from those circumstances stay on our toes and not get comfortable. Nip reminded me soooooooooooo much of jay z with his music. No way they the same or sound the same but the way they put you up on so much game. Insecure people look at that shyt as bragging rap or it being materialistic. Not me I always look at that shyt as you can come from the streets grind and attain your dream whatever it is. If it's buying a house, cars, great credit, entrepreneurship, whatever you can do it just get out there makes moves. It's there to attain you just have to want your dream desperately enough to work for it.

Do u know if it’s open? I’m flying into LA Friday morning

Also, what’s it lookin like on a safety level for out of town nikkas to go to that area to pay respects:lupe:
You will be straight. You going there with good intentions nobody will be concerned with you like that and not just because Nipsey passing, in general the idea that civilians get checked by gang members in LA is highly overblown. Obviously don't roll through neighborhoods on foot dolo at night even tho you'd most likely be straight. At worst they'd ask you where you from and keep it moving.

It’s wild corny when people talk sideways about people who are just getting up on Nipsey music and life after he died. You get no special points for being down since day one, you should feel good that you witnessed greatness from the beginning but no one can convince me that Nip wouldn’t be happy to know that even tho many are riding the hype train it may still expose them to his message he gave through his music and work.

The difference between 2pac and Nipsey is 2pac only SAID the things he want or intended to do. Nipsey ACTED upon it. He's more than Pac. The problem is that people romanticized everything 2pac was about and forgotten before he was killed he was the most divisive rapper in hip hop. And he wasn't a soldier. He didn't lead anything. Let's be honest about this. He was someone who lived his heart on his sleeve and was honest and real about everything he speak on and he had visions and goals that he wished could happen, but he was problematic and overly reactionary which put him in the crosshairs of drama. We can go on and on with conspiracies about 2pac's death, but the reality is that he was killed by Orlando Anderson squarely because 'Pac hopped on some drama shyt at Las Vegas. I mean we rather glorify that "don't give a fukk" attitude, but that's the thing that got him into a lot of those situations and blind sighted loyalty with people.

Nipsey was a different type of person. He wasn't someone who never was part of gang culture but injected himself with that climate like 2pac had. He was bred into it and worked consistently in trying to transform it. You wouldn't have the love and respect that he's not receiving he's receiving now had it been 2pac, because of them being completely different circumstances. There wasn't a gang unity rallied around 2pac. There wasn't grievance by the LAPD to where even the chief of police mourned this loss. This was out of mutual love and respect for this man and what he was actively doing and the senseless way he was killed. Far different from 2pac.

And this isn't really with any disrespect to what 2pac was legacy-wise. He was a highly intelligent, very personal, charismatic and truthful soul. But let's kill romanticizing him as if he was of deity. He was someone that was flawed and made some bad decisions which led a path to his own demise. The things he had potential of becoming that we all saw he had in him was lost due to being too invested with the ignorance of the streets. That same ignorance that Nipsey was actively trying to eradicate and not just through talk but with action.
This is such a stupid post, comparing someone who was born waaay before Nip and lived in a different era, died 8 years younger is completely lopsided.
