Brother in Law copped the OLED Switch for a long flight and said it's mine if I want it
And now if you see Taki Udon on youtube, he's coming out with an OLED upgrade kit for the old switch that has a better screen than the official OLED switch

Okay, it's pretty clear we're not getting the Switch 2 announcement this year:
1. Nintendo doesn't want to give consumers a reason to not put Switches under Christmas trees.
2. They're probably waiting to see who wins the election so they know whether or not they're gonna have deal with 10-20% tariffs in their largest market.
3. Maybe they're trying to give developers more time to keep their games in the oven.
I'm calling a January announcement, April release.

I’m in Japan now and holding off from an OLED Switch if 2 will come out next year. I cannot game anymore as I got a kid who owns the TV and don’t want him to see the things I play on PS5, but primarily I love Mario!
Not sure if holding out is best though, the Switch is a monster out here and I wanted to get it as a momento of the holiday.

Have you considered the PlayStation portal?
You could get the switch this year, and then trade it in for the switch 2. Also,the switch 2 is confirmed to be backwards compatible.

I looked into the PS Portal after you suggested it and decided to still get a Switch as I did. Or realise I can do PS Remote play via my PC in my office.
When the Switch 2 comes I’ll give it to my
Nieces.
I ended up getting Mario and Luigi ROG (Brotherhood) and the OLED Switch. Going to Akihabara next week and will load up on some preowned titles.
