the console can be handheld and dock on the tv
The lite can only be handheld
They all play the same games
If I were young I would want the console because I can choose but it’s up to you
lite can't play some games that are joycon only, like 1-2 switch, ring fit, etc.
and obviously the lack of being able to actually switch from dock to handheld, since it's handheld only
Not to parrot the others who've commented
but the console allows you to play motion games like Fitness Boxing, and Ring Fit Adventure on a larger TV
The console would be a better choice as it would allow you to play multiplayer games with him. I'd stay away from aftermarket controllers though, as they will cause noticeable lag when playing with two or more people locally.

While I’m at it this is a game that dropped back in June and is HIGHLY slept on I don’t see anyone talking about it Astalon Tears of the Earth. This is in my top 5 indie games for 2021. This review doesn’t do it too much justice it’s a 9/10 imo
