New Monster Hunter and The Legend of Zelda at launch. I can't see the Switch not doing well.
Yeah it's gonna light up the charts
zelda/monster hunter and maybe mario at launch is sure fire sales globally

Monster Hunter XX suffers the same problem as Breath of the Wild. In that it's also on another console. Monster Hunter XX will be on the 3ds. People MIGHT get the NX/Switch version but why? Most Japanese already have a 3DS. Why buy a new handheld/console for this?

The biggest problem people have with Nintendo is the lack of games coming out

No one doubts that the it will have good launch games

But what about 6 months from launch and so on?

It's a pretty good decision to maximize sales, those that want a Switch don't have to remain on past hardware for Monster Hunter and The Legend of Zelda, while those that aren't interested in the Switch won't miss out on games that were promised to them(The Legend of Zelda).

Nintendo is really small for a gaming giant, so they had to split their resources among two platforms, with the Switch they can now focus on one platform that can accommodate both their home console and handheld offerings. If Nintendo doesn't fukk this up(fingers crossed) than we can say goodbye to first-party droughts and hello to The Legend of Zelda, Fire Emblem, Pokemon, Mario Kart, Splatoon etc. all on one platform.

It just dawned on me how overwhelming it would be to have all of those games on one platform. If Nintendo executes this shyt right then Sony/Microsoft will be crying like bytches.

You have to admit this is yours and everyone elses hopes and expectations. We have no idea what Nintendo has planned.

Is it official that there will be no successor to the 3ds?

True.

No, but it's also not official that the 3DS is getting a successor either. What we know so far is that Nintendo has said that the Nintendo Switch is not a successor to the Wii U or 3DS.
Going by their stance on the DS and GBA back in 04-05, it depends on if the Switch does well.
