i think that 'discovering games' is bs

psp and vita users always kept that sort of stuff secondary to actual releases. ps and xbox compartmentalize backwards compatibility within a respective sector as well. to make it worse, people are hyping up shyt that they not only had no interest in playing on several other platforms but stuff that didn't even do numbers on those other platforms either. just going back to the last page, if donkey kong was your shyt and all these wii u games were you thing then your probably bought a Wii U ie it would've justified your purchase :dead: if gunvolt was your thing (it was no ones thing) then you picked it up on PSN or Steam.

this is straight up not good enough and pretending otherwise allows nintendo to sell cardboard and cloud storage with a straight face.

How's it BS? Some peeps ain't buy the OG system the game was on, and couldn't justify copping a system for one or a couple games, or they might not cop more than 1 system a generation...look at all the remasters PS3/PS4/X-box got, same shyt different systems. Ico/Shadow of Coloussis getting that treatment, Okami got that treatment more than once, and I think No More Heroes got it. RE4 done got it 2332454546 times. I don't see what the problem is.

because those other systems actually got new games and third party joints too - not just this kind of momentum alone. nintendo is really looking like they're too shook to potentially put out a quantum break or sunset overdrive and instead play up essentially nothing because they know that people will not only tolerate it, but celebrate it.

the main push for the switch has been accessories and these older games for an entire quarter now

Weird @42 Monks

I think I acknowledged, before stating my opinion, that I already saw your argument. You kind of just reiterated it but, no harm no foul.

All I'm saying is, it's possible that there are people who may express an interest in games that formerly weren't their speed.

I know people who never thought to fukk w/ Xcom type games until Mario Rabbits came out and now are craving that fix.

There are people who have played God of War for the first time in GOD 4 and have become a lover of the lore of the game and are interested in not having to purchase a previous PS in order to play.

Check my son's gamertag and you'll see him and I putting in time to play Full Spectrum Warrior since his first tactical military game was Rainbow Six Siege and loves that vibe.

Nothing wrong w/ options.

I could spend all day talking about how me and my crew don't need single player exclusives on Xbox but if they announce them, I'm not in the position to frown upon it because I'm sure it'll benefit someone.

also, in some cases rebuying the game on a new shows interest in the franchise, especially if it's niche...something like Ace Attorney for example. Probably one of the few franchises where I've rebought every re-release in hopes the franchise remains a Capcom staple. Doing the same with Mega Man. Got them shyts on the OG NES, but bought them legacy collections, and will get MM11 once it drops so we get more Mega Man.

:dwillhuh:

how's it stanning?

it's not a nintendo exclusive idea. We been getting remasters/ports all across systems. Now, if the new games being released ain't your thing, that's another story. But there are new games being released among the ports.

I have a switch :yeshrug: I'm just copping all of the now discounted Wii-U games.
Instead of buying them full price for The Switch.

@42 Monks has a point. If you're looking for NEW software that isn't already available elsewhere and for a much cheaper price, the Switch has slim offerings.

However I felt XC2, Mario LO and Zelda:BOTW were compelling enough to purchase the console.

Now I gotta twiddle my thumbs until Bayonetta 3 and Metroid Prime 4 come out.

The good thing about ports and virtual consoles is that people get a chance to play classics. I.e super metroid, Mario rpg, windwaker hd, bayonetta. But like @42 Monks is saying you can't bank your future on ports and virtual console / classics. You gotta bring new shyt, hell you gotta try new shyt on a big scale and fail. I'm not talking eshop small developer creations. But real games.
