I am curious about how Nintendo is optimizing their games. Switch 1 games that I played required no download. If we have to install and download, then really there is no benefit to buying physical anymore.

Switch 2 itself is day 1 for me. Though with price hike there should be no rush to buy these games unless you actually gonna play them right away.

You think so? They haven't had back to back console successes since the Snes. Even the transition from 2DS to 3DS was a struggle which people forget. One of the only time I remember Nintendo dropping prices to help sales. I'm not saying this will be Wii U but they're trying to get the same play off twice with little differentiation and gimmicks from 3 generations ago. That chat and camera look like ps2 Eyetoy shyt. Idk if this is an easy sell for the millions of casuals who can't tell the difference outside a 2 and price. We'll see...

This is by far their most successful console since the SNES too. I ain't counting the Wii because the whole thing was a gimmick and people fell off after the initial buzz. The game library for the Wii was lowkey bad.

This might not do Switch 1 numbers but it will do well.

3DS was seen as an unnecessary upgrade but the run from GB -> GBC -> GBA > DS was a massive success with hit after hit after hit. They completely dominated the handheld market. The love the PSP gets is revisionist love, the DS was the more popular console in real time

It can be a success, but they gotta carry that weight for 8-9 years knowing they supported some bullshyt as soon as it popped up. That's the shyt that make your soul burn slow.

And they'll be on their own once Nintendo really start hoeing with the Online service and mid quality ports for $70-80 months after... We'll still be over here as usual. Nintendo ain't some oasis, they been on bullshyt. The Switch 1 just benefitted from them being humbled after the Wii U.

I won't argue that Nintendo doesnt do things their own way stubbornly

Beyond pricing I just don't see the issue here. We're getting much better performance, full backwards compatibility. Better options for multiplayer which Nintendo always lagged behind on. Some slight innovations to the tech without changing too much, like a new PlayStation would

If you don't think Sony will also adjust their pricing if these games sell like they did last time, not sure what to tell you lol...
