I’m not absolving her. I stated why it sucks for her mostly which is why I said poor Nikki but also said why it’s on her as well.

Yeah, he’s definitely at fault here as well. He wasn’t bound to her. He could’ve left. He didn’t need to propose to her but obviously he thought he wanted her enough that he would change and so did she.
