If you're getting hit with fees on a CHECKING account, that's JUST as bad as going to a check cashing spot.

and ideally you're not living check to check, so a direct deposit delay isn't the end of the world

You telling me you dont know anyone who fukked up their checking account so that any funds put in there are given to the bank? Once that happens you cant open a checking account anywhere else.
