In terms of fights, animation and story Digimon wins. Seeing Onmimon in the cinema had me like

First season anime was great because the cast weren’t generic and were actually funny, and had some crazy ass plotsdigimon was definitely always seen as second rate, but the pokemon anime is trash so the digimon show was better

Ehhh that first Digimon movie released in theaters was ass. Granted they cut up three different stories for the film and removed a lot of the content from the japanese version.
IIRC only the cut scenes included the pops coming home drunk from work

shyt came to america when i was 6/7/8 and i got the manga from the library and i got the version that the anime isn't based on and kind of follows the video game storyline more (altho it's way more wild than the video game storyline) and i always thought the anime was weak even when i was an elementary schooler. especially when DBZ dropped a few months later.
