Yeah it's the Nike Tailwind 79, probably not the pair OP was describing but they go hard as hell if you enjoy that classic look.

So I landed on the Nike Air Windrunner, only ones I can find that came close. I remember the Nike check being the same color as the shoes and they had atleast 5 solid colors. If I remember correctly they were under $50 at either Foot Locker, Dunhams, or Koenigs.

Fam, when I got the blue and red ones, I caught hell at the bus stop in my own neighborhood. Cat's thought I was gang banging, claiming colors, cause I had the Levi' 550 jeans that matched the shoes in different colors. All I heard was about Folks, Vicelords, Crips, and Bloods. Mind you I was 14-15 at the time, stayed out of trouble and new nothing of gang life. Eventually they left me alone about my shoes.
