............................................I was thinking watching this that Africans (people all around the world of course too) get a lot of the cultural "cues" from the U.S....and although there is a great mixture of skin shades among African American celebrities/personalities...nonetheless....light is still given some preference...even if marginally.......(sometimes)......... so yeah I would agree.......that I'm sure many of the Nigerian/African celebrities also get their "cues" from African American celebrities/personalities too (sometimes) and so it all sorta falls into place.....

Youre probably right on this..i noticed in many of the nollywood movies ive seen the lighter skinned chick usually plays the heroine and the darker one is usually the evil witch...

the fact that this is even a hot topic is a disaster. i wouldn't believe any number spit out by the media. they're in collusion with the people selling this crap as far as i'm concerned. if folks believe bleaching is more rampant than it actually is then they've achieved their goal. a lasting change in perception of beauty in a culture that has been historically proud of their heritage. now they want these people to think they're ugly and inferior to their lighter, whiter counterparts.
