I don't think that the word brother applies here, as these are people from separate and distinct ethnic groups.
Competing groups have always fought over land and resources since humans have been here.
We have issues and divisions among Blacks in America for sure, but because of the history of racism, segregation , one drop rule,etc....there exists some sort of racial solidarity here that doesn't apply to this story.
In my opinion, at least.
I think the ethnic groups in African countries were able to come together to battle the European colonizer....common enemy....but what kind of true unity or brotherhood can exist between groups thrown together under artificial borders?

I've done extensive study on Boko Haram (got a MA out of it). Obasanjo didn't defeat Boko Haram. He defeated the "Nigerian Taliban". Different group. That group wasn't led by Mohammed Yusuf or Abubakar Shekau.
Nigerians should keep insulting our useless leaders until we take our human rights from them. I support insulting "animals in human skin" like Buhari. That's what Fela did. That's what Kanu has done. Others after them will do the same.

You're welcome. There are tons of Nigerian college students in NYC, so hopefully the turnout includes Igbos AND members of other ethnic groups standing together. If not..I hope the Igbos turn out in big numbers....and the news cameras are there.
