Living in Dallas and hearing the local sports talk....it's ALLLLLLLLL about Nico. Barely anyone mentions Adelson or Dumont. They act like Nico masterminded the whole thing.

Nico had issues with him long before the Adelsons even took over. Quite clearly there'd been friction between the both of them for a minute now.

Can't wait for the documentary about this. There's clearly something more to this trade than meets the eye. I'm thinking the owner just didn't want to pay that much no matter who the player was. But that still doesn't explain why they would trade him to the Lakers without creating a bidding war for Luka.

It’s clear why they didn’t create a bidding war, cuz it’s only so many players you're targeting if you trying to get close to equal value in a one to one trade.

I heard they contacted the Bucks about Giannis before they got to AD…they had a short list and I think they only had interest in the best big power forwards ie Giannis and AD(moving him from the 5 of course as he wanted). Pelinka said yes and the rest is history. And I gotta say that team looked damn good that one and only game with everybody out there so there’s some hope of Mavs fans wanna calm down a bit.

Had it come out publicly that Dallas was fielding offers for Luka, there would've been an instant backlash from the fans, other teams and Luka....The trade would've never happened.
