Ngl feel like I've been brainwashed growing up to hold new york artists above southern artists

When I was a kid, the South was putting out those bangers from 2003-2007 with Lil Jon…

Even Nas rapped on a Lil Jon beat and killed it.

NY had its dope stuff but the South proved that they didn’t need em and now u have NY nikkas that’s been jockin the South since 2005.

Pimp juice is still one of my favorite albums of all time

Lil Jon also laced Nas on quick to back down

Different sounds serve different purposes. I’m deep southern and Nas is my goat (Lupe is my favorite though)

If you really like music you’ll enjoy and place artists from all regions on a pedestal

Cube
Common
Scarface

Specifically will always be in my GOAT 5 convo for that reason

There’s no bias with me…

Majority of my favorite rappers are from NYC including Nas !!

I’m from Baltimore MD and I have no issue bumping OJ and Gucci Mane in public.

These dudes like @Stick Up Kid kill me with that South made hip hop lose intelligence. Yes because DMX, Maga 50 Cent, Fredro Starr, Ja Rule were so intelligent :mjlol: Even their conscious rappers they praise are not as high and mighty, KRS One out here defending child molesters but yea the culture :mjlol:

I like Southern Artists.... I've always said Eightball N MJG is my favorite group of all time.. and Scarface is in My Top 10.

but the rest are trash, and are mostly responsible for destroying the artform of hip hop

But yet NY created the concept of “ keeping it real” :camby:

I"m from the South and started listening to hip hop in 1984. Not every southern artist is trash and not every NY artist is great. The south had great acts prior to the rise of Cash Money and No Limit in 1998(and a lot of their acts are great too), but if anyone believes the bullshyt that has come out of the south post 97 is on par with NY hip hop from 88-95, you're fukking stupid. Period. I love the Dungeon Family as they have released some of the greatest hip hop acts and albums of all time, but Atlanta as whole from the late 2000s until now has released some of the worst shyt I've ever heard in my life. And then NY starting following the trend haha.
