The thing about anthony richardson being drafted was all the talking heads was like "he is a long term project". So why did the colts rush him out to play so soon instead of sitting behind flacco for a couple years?

The GM has been there 7 years, has a sub .500 record and won 1 playoff game. If you can't point to your success you sell hope

I get having Luck retire on you out of the blue was a shytty beat but that was 6 years ago

Chris Ballard was desperate to fast-track development and doesn’t have the time to sit Anthony for a couple seasons with his seat being as hot as it is, going into year 8 as GM. It’s a miracle he wasn’t fired with Reich after going 4-12-1.

There's no such thing as long term prospect, especially not behind routine journeyman. Love sat for multiple years because he was behind a hall of famer who turned back the clock racking up MVPs again.

No amount of sitting and watching is gonna fix not being able to crack 50% completions in year two, especially when you're in a system that every QB with a pulse thrives in.

I agree.

Folks need to make up their mind on what a project QB means. Its not like other positions where you can slowly ease them in. A project outside corner or edge rusher can have a few snaps a game in non-leverage situation, or maybe at another position (ie, corner on a slot #3 WR)

A project QB whose issues are accuracy and not having college reps, needs more reps and where is the QB gonna get the reps. Especially with practices right now dont have tackling drills, and practices are very different from live reps.

Josh Allen is a complete anomaly in terms of actually improving accuracy and even he got thrown into the pool. But people say a raw QB should have sat. Well, would Josh Allen be better if he sat ? No one knows because he didnt sit.

So to me, you cant both have your cake and eat it too. You start your project QB, forget the "winning" part and focus on developing your franchise QB from the "project" phase to hopefully "good QB" phase. Yes, the lows will be abysmal, but you hope the project gets developed. Although with accuracy Im more and more convinced thats extremely hard to do.

Trey Lance basically sat for how many years and still has same issues hes had before. Project QBs are the ones you take a big swing on and prepare that you might have missed.

Ravens defensive scheme is ass
They are in their own way against sub par teams

Browns basically have 2 SBs every year and we know who they're against. Figured they'd go ham today and they will on 1/5, too. Sometimes you catch a bad beat (all those missed picks!) and that's what happened with the Ravens. They'll bounce back.

Commanders have some serious mojo going. I like it. No one was expecting this.

Speaking of DC, I think the Cards got a battery in their back after that beatdown from them a few weeks ago. Kyler especially looks like he's out to prove something.

I dead*** thought Kyle Shanahan was gonna Lincoln Riley that game away. Good and badly needed W for them.

Steelers will (likely) be atop the A-North after tonight. What can you say? They just persevere through any and everything.
LOL I tell everyone this.

Learned that the Chiefs are just bored when it comes to WRs. For a team that makes great decisions everywhere else, they do head scratching shyt at WR.

They are a quick game, YAC type of offense not contested catch, so Hopkins is not a good fit.

They already had Hollywood and Hardman and already went thru MVS, and had Rice as the slot, so Worthy was a silly pick. The obvious missing piece was some size. They shoulf have taken a normal, ‘I can run the full route tree’, X: Pearsall, Leggete, AD Mitchell…or Keon Coleman who’s contested catch but at least he’s young.

This on top of them throwing away a 3rd on Kadarius Toney.

They just be throwing away WR spots and still finding ways to win. It should cost them in the long run but they keep finding a way

:dahell:

DHop been with the team for like 1 practice and you're convinced he's not a fit? He doesn't even know the play book but he was getting open:

Mahomes said he didn't even know he was so open vs man until he ran the plays back on the tablet. Knowing he can go to Dhop whenever he sees man is something the offense has been missing.

I would love them to not be so caught up on the type of WR Andy loves. Rashee worked out but Pat lobbied for him. They need to draft better but I still think Worthy will be a problem once they get Hopkins acclimated and defenses start keying on him. It took a while for them to get Rice going last season.

yeah I dont get where the whole thing about DHop being a contested catch guy comes from. He can run routes very well, especially at this stage of his career.

He absolutely has been known for making contested catches but he was also an elite separator. Just last season he was tied for 5th in open rating with AJ Brown and Garrett Wilson. He's 28th this year but that's one of those misleading numbers you see when a guy is on a bad team. Watch it improve vastly now that he knows he's on a contender.
