Texans have been in the league for only 23 years, we’ve never really had a qb where every single route tree/combination is available. Stroud threw 50+ yard nukes in 3 consecutive drives

He also leads the league through week 12 AS A ROOKIE with OVER 3k yards! :damn:

WE DONT EVEN HAVE A #1 RECEIVER YET!:whoa:

Tomlin will be scooped up in a hurry if he gets fired

His main problem is being loyal to his guys. They need a great offensive mind to pair up with him.

I can see how this L to zona is a bad look for him tho.
The L is a bad look but not totally unexpected. I almost expect it every season at this point. The coaching staff needs a overhaul. The organization is stale imo

I hate to say this, but I think Tomlin might need to be on the list with Beli. A third of the league is going to be looking for coaches and I wouldn't be surprised if that includes the Steelers and Patriots. Both of them chose their staff. Both of them have been rolling on the idea of them being two of the best, but the past two years have been bad for both regardless of who the QB is because they handpicked the OC.

Edit:

Will be looking:
Panthers
Raiders
Commanders
Jets
Falcons
Bears
Buccaneers
Chargers
Saints

Real Possibility:
Bills
Giants
Browns
Packers

I wouldn't be surprised:
Steelers
Pats
The Jets aren't firing Saleh.

I can’t get down with this. Football fans are so overreactive.

That man turned that franchise into one of the most prestigious franchises in football and one bad season and he needs to be fired :heh:

shyt is hilarious. If anything he should not be a GM and just focus on coaching.
Nothing you said is wrong, but for the sake of resetting, it would make sense.

Given everything you said Bill has done there, do you think he'd really step back from the GM role to solely focus on coaching?

Agreed. It also highlights how little credit alot of pundits are giving tua. He's near the top in air yds and Yac. But of course he gets labeled a yac merchant.

As for Bienemy he's in an impossible situation and I thought he should've never taken that Washington job.
Yeah I think Tua is actually a really good QB.

People look at the arm and have questions, but Peyton Manning broke the touchdown record without throwing a single pass over 50 yards because his arm was shot at that point (before it really got bad). Tua's arm is about the same tier as Drew Brees's, which means he can make every single throw necessary to win football games (and break records). It ain't about the arm, it's about playing QB and Tua can play QB.

Plus I see my team's QB (Chargers/Herbert) miss some really easy critical throws and that's cost them games. Tua doesn't miss those same throws from the games I've seen him play. People really underestimate some of those "easy" throws (because they're in their chairs) but Tua is one of the best in the league at making them and with a terrific amount of accuracy. There's a strong sense of reliability which is why dude is top 3 in Comp%.

There's going to be so many openings that he'll get a job immediately, but both him and the Steelers need a reset just like the Pats do.
Chicago has an attractive situation - lots of young talented players lowkey, upcoming #1 pick and tons of draft capital, 90 mil in capspace, prestige franchise, great city to live in, new stadium coming. Tomlin could have the job for the next 10-15 years and be a legend in two cities if he wanted

I think someone like Kevin Warren can attract a high level coach if they are available, I bet he chases Harbugh too

Bears are getting Harbaugh
No chance the Steelers fire Tomlin
It was a rough game but they are still in playoff contention in an extremely tough division
Patriots are about to go 2 & fukking 15

His main problem is that he gets outsmarted X & O's wise by literally every coach in the league so unless you have geniuses running your offense and defense and top tier talent on the field, you're in trouble as you are never going to beat the top tier teams and you're going to play down to the bottom feeders and have horrible losses every year and of course you're going to stumble in the playoffs without fail.

He's a perfect coach for a team with low/middling expectations where just making the playoffs means something but if you want more than that like the Steelers expect then you're just going to be disappointed as you can only hear so many clever quotes from him and stories from players saying he's their favorite coach as well as the coolest ever before you realize none of that matters since he can't win when it counts.

Unfortunately all us Steeler fans know all too well that our front office and owner are so blindly loyal that they won't fire Tomlin until 2 or 3 years too late..
