NFL parity doesn't mean much, if you're a fan of a perennial loser.

I always used to hear George Atkinson on the radio say the parity in the NFL was more mediocrity than anything . Didn't think much of it back then but now I agree :ehh:

Bingo!!! Nailed it!! Mediocrity more than anything has made the NFL what it is. It's the reason why there's parity in the NFC, and its the reason why there isn't parity in the AFC.

Yep. I know it. NBA certainty>>>NFL "parity". No dream selling in the NBA. The favorites are the favorites. No one selling dreams of the Cavs or Sacramento winning the title. We know its golden state vs the rest of the league. So we can watch the NBA with adjusted expectations for our squads. But the NFL? Your team could start 4-0 and your szn can go to hell by December. You won't know what your teams ceiling is until it's too late... Wasted excitement at the beginning of the szn, wasted days hoping and dreaming....:francis:

That's the point. You can either watch the NBA just for the narrative of LBJ vs GS with pre-adjusted expectations, or you can choose not to watch at all and not waste time. That's how the NBA has always been. Star driven, legacy driven and narrative driven. But the NFL will have you watching, waiting, and wasting time hoping that our squad can make that rare magical late season run that led your squad to the playoffs and eventually the Superbowl in 2008 when they beat NE, because "anybody has a shot". And again, I can understand why you NFC guys feel that your teams have a shot to win year to year. NFC is just that wide open each year. If I was a fan of an NFC team, I'd be excited every year too. I hope this 3-1 start by Miami isn't a fluke. I hope NE didn't expose us. I hope..... Like every other year..

New England curb stomping Miami is a classic case of illusory parity......

Does anyone believe the relatively hot start by the dolphins will hold through the rest of the season?

So you're basically saying the entire NBA season is hopeless and worthless for like 28 teams. And then you would be ok if the NFL did the same thing? That makes no sense.

The nba does not want you to think that your team.has no chance. They want the Nugget fans to show up.

Both leagues offer no hope.
Both leagues offer plenty of mediocrity. They're for casual fans at this point.

Plus is it really parity if a team that does decent one season is ass cheeks for the next 3 but the cream of the crop like the Pats remain juggernauts....
