NFL parity doesn't mean much, if you're a fan of a perennial loser.

Ive been sipping that "Hope" Koolaid for more than a decade. And each year the Pats/Colts/Steelers have smacked it out of my hands. This year FINALLY we got competent coach in Adam Gase, and we made it into the playoffs by a hair. But, when you're a Phins fan, or a Browns fan, or a Bills fan, the "everybody gets a shot, just have hope" narrative gets tired, once you see the Pats or colts or Steelers in the AFC title game again. To me, The AFC is no different than the NBA. Salute to the Pats though. I'm not mad at New England, nor am I mad at dominance, I just think the NFLs current model of trying to force teams into the playoffs and giving everybody a "shot" isn't working. All it does is sell false hope to a 9-7 or a 10-6 team, who might win a game in the wild card round, and then get smashed by the usual suspects in round 2. Might as well let the dominant teams be dominant. The power shift in the AFC ain't happening anytime soon. It's gonna be the same old teams winning the conference.

We just need you to hope long enough to buy season tickets :shaq:

:russ: I'm a Jags fan we ain't winning shyt, but talk to me after a few weeks of training camp imma tell you we might go 9-7 or 10-6 :lolbron:

As long as you don't start betting on them to actually be good you're alright. It's only entertainment :whoa:

parity exists in the NFL, it's just double edge sword. as fast as you can turn things around is as fast as it can fall apart. AFC needs to be ashamed that they've let the pats run wild for over a decade...payton to an extent as well. NFC has shown how thing should shuffle.
The dominant teams are gonna dominate anyways. Why reward mediocrity year after year when we already know what the end result is gonna be. Hopefully Oakland or Miami can shake up the monotony of the AFC playoffs next year, but until then, I don't see anything deviating from the norm in the AFC. Even in the "no parity" NBA, there hasn't been a divisional dominance and a conference dominance quite like what we've seen in the AFC. The Spurs/Lakers in the Western conference might be the closest thing to Pats/Steelers in the AFC. Only one conference has parity. The current system only works for one conference.

It's the same system for both conferences tho...it's not the pats fault they got a coach with a system that can damn near plug in any walkon and have them ball out. You take beli and put him on another team with at least a top 16 QB they're going to do the same. Outside of people being unable to stop beli - the other AFC teams shuffle. The pats are just on a different level. AFC has seen a mix of kc, ny jets, Broncos, Texans, Colts, Baltimore, Pitt, cincy, and now possibly the raiders all have nice runs of being strong teams. There is parity....but then there is belichick :beli:

To me, parity is the relative equal ability to get your team on a position to win, everyone can rise and fall at the same rate. The NFL has that, it's on each org to maximize talent acquisitions

That goes back to what I said about NFL "parity" being judged different than how people perceive parity in the NBA. No one says "Well it's not the NBA'S fault LeBron James is the GOAT" Eastern conference teams shuffle in and out of the playoffs every year also, but LBJ just plays on another level. Yet everyone wants to pretend that the lack of parity in the NBA is merely due to the system and small markets getting shafted by big name free agents. While everyone thinks the NFL system is fair and perfect.

I'm a bears and Seahawks fan, the bears have been a disappointment for a long time, to the point I damn near want to get off that narcotic, but I keep going, parity is for suckers, as long as you have owners who are stuck in their ways, or they keep paying inept front office nikkas, with a lack of plans then you can expect the same results

Unless Brady retires or tear his acl, then it's a good time to not watch the games and wait until the tides turn.

This reminds me of the Western Confernence of the NBA when the Lakers and Queens were dominating and Jason Kidd's Suns couldn't crack the division title. So Suns fans had to wait until the dynasty fell to get a real taste of winning. Those were some long ass years of waiting :aicmon:
