Runningback Melvin Gordon wants a new contract and is willing to sit out training camp as a result.

Gordon’s agent, Fletcher Smith, told Adam Schefter of ESPN his client will not report to training camp and will demand a trade if the Chargers do not give him a new deal.

Gordon, the No. 15 overall pick in the 2015 draft, is set to receive $5.6 million this season, according to Schefter.

The Wisconsin product has established himself as one of the best three-down backs in the league at just 26 years old. He tallied 885 rushing yards, 490 receiving yards and 14 total touchdowns in 12 games last season, and he played a full 16 games and finished with 1,105 rushing yards in 2017.

Chargers bout to let him sit :mjlol:
They gonna pay him but this threat aint scaring anybody

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft reportedly led a discussion at the latest collective-bargaining session with the National Football League Players Association about expanding the NFL regular season to 18 games.

On Thursday, Andrew Beaton of the Wall Street Journal reported the players' union "resisted" the idea, which could create "potentially billions of dollars annually." The owners also floated a proposal that would cap each player's appearances at 16 per season as a possible compromise.

Greedy fukks.
The players better not ever agree to this.
The league doesnt need 18 games 16 is great.
Pigs get fed hogs get slaughtered. The league trying its damndest to get slaughtered.
And capping players at 16 games doesn't mean that players will even make more cause theyd have to have extra dudes on the roster to supplement the gameday 53.

:why:.

Sixteen games is the perfect amount. It's been that way for a long time. No need to change it.

And, for a league that wants to act like they care about players health, going to eighteen games is absurd. And, I know that proposal says they would only have to play in sixteen, but that is even worse than having them play in all eighteen games. Are you going to sit out your star players for two games?:dwillhuh:.

Are they going to be allowed to play all eighteen games? What happens if it's the 17th and 18th game of the season, the division is tied, the next two games are divisional games, and you're QB and top pass rusher have played in sixteen games already. Do they have to sit those two games?:why:.

Once this NBA offseason hype slows down, the NFL will take control as usual.

Quest for number seven begins.:mjlit:.

There are some great home games I'll be able to go to this year.

Browns
Chiefs
Cowboys

Won't be able to get my parents tickets to the Steelers though, but those three games

Agree with everything you’ve said.

They don’t want to give them guaranteed money but they want to suggest this lmao. If they want to increase the quality of play within the league they need to give them guaranteed money, so they can probably trade that off with more offseason work to help player development.

Also seen it been argued that having two bye weeks would benefit players a great deal. This could help prevent injuries as bye weeks are too early or late. Also helps NFL keep TNF alive as teams coming off byes could play on TNF. Those games have been trash recently as teams come off short weeks. Also helps to stretch the season out if that’s what the owners are looking for.

I hope the NFLPA fight for these things if they are considering an 18 game season.
