I'm confused. Did decker even report as eligible????
So the Lions story is that Decker, 68, reported as eligible, and that Skipper, 70, DID NOT report as eligible.

The problem with this story is that the ref clearly says "number 70 is an eligible receiver " , meaning that whatever the lions said, what the ref heard was 70 reporting as eligible.

And so if the Lions hear the ref say 70 is an eligible receiver, and they know that is wrong, then why don't they say something then? How come no lions coach or player protest to the ref saying 70 is eligible?

Even more hilarious, it seems like the whole point of the lions sending 3 linemen over to talk to the ref was to confuse the cowboys about who is eligible, but the refs state who is eligible, you know...like they did, so trying to get cute and trick the cowboys was just a complete waste of time.

Dan Campbell told the refs before the game what would happen

Decker said he reported to the ref

Detroit got screwed...esp considering it was a delayed penalty

What the fukk is there for Dan Campbell to tell the refs "before hand"? It's not fukking rocket science. It's one person telling the ref he is reporting as an eligible receiver. It happens a few times every game. The fact that Dan Campbell has to "tell" the ref anything is a bad sign.

Of course Decker said he reported to the ref? His only other option is to say he didn't. You think he was going to say that?

Only the Lions could be dumb enough to device a play where the most important part of it is tricking the defense into not knowing who the eligible receiver is because they don't know enough about the rules to know that the refs tell the defense EXACTLY who the eligible receiver is :mjlol:

The Dallas media has been reporting that many of the Cowboys defensive players that were on the field are saying the Lions story is straight bullshyt. They are saying the Lions were trying to get away with cheating and it backfired. :mjlol: :laff:

Coaches meet with refs before hand and go over plays they might see in game. That is what Campbell meant. The refs should have known Decker was available to be a receiver because they already talked about it.

Skipper was a mile away from ref how could he report as eligible. He lined up at guard on the play. Refs explanation made zero sense. He simply called the wrong number and lied about after the fact

Lions had no Timeouts. How are they supposed to correct a ref that says the wrong player in eligible while their in formation to run their legal play

Decker has caught a TD before. Pretty sure he knows the drill

Stop whining. It boils down to these officials being trash all around. They announced that 70 was eligible. If the ref fukked up the announcement, yes you need to correct them before running a play to an ineligible receiver

Calls get missed all the time. Holding, DPI when it's really OPI, etc. Missing a call is totally different than making up a call because you weren't paying attention. The ref fukked up, and caping for his bullshyt just makes everybody doing it look disingenuous as fukk :francis:

I'm not caping for shyt. They called the wrong player clear as day before the play ran. If they allowed the 2pt, cowboys would have their own right to bytch because he wasn't announced as eligible. It's fukked up either way, but the offense has to correct the ref in that situation to avoid fukkery.

How does the offense correct it without saying "hey, THAT'S the lineman we want to throw it to" and telegraphing the whole play? :dwillhuh: The offense doesn't have to do shyt but exactly what they did. The hoe ass refs have to do their fukkin job right.

As far as the Cowboys go, I feel you, but fukk what the refs talking about, I have zero sympathy for a defense thinking to cover the OT and and not the "TE" on any play. I'm not letting a ref's announcement trick me out of basic common sense on the field :hubie:
