I don't see any physical or mental act that comes with refereeing that prohibits the entry of women. Most of these refs aren't supreme athletes, they just gotta jog a few yards here and there. Like, if there are women police officers, I see no reason there shouldn't be women referees. I don't get the respect angle. Being a referee isn't about respecting the capabilities of an athlete, it's about enforcing the rules of the game as it's played. I don't understand the concern, as if a female ref isn't going to respect that ODB catch and rule it a non-catch or something? :heh:

I really don't think a female ump would be looked at any differently in your baseball scenario. It's 2015. Ronda Rousey is out there beating everyone up. No one's gonna faint if a female ump gets chestbumped or yelled at. Especially not the women's rights activists who have been campaigning for these barriers to be broken down, as it would be antithetical to their entire cause.

You obviously have your own perspective on the issue of gender roles though, so I think we'll ultimately just disagree :yeshrug:

Seriously breh? If a bytch finds someone more attractive on the field she'll provide biased calls for said individual. You nikkas stupid or something? Female refs in a men's game is asking for failure in objectivity.

breh, cmon now, you and I both know that's nonsense. You seriously think a female ref is gonna not call holding or pass interference because the offending player is attractive (mind you, this is a game played with helmets on)? :comeon:

You think male refs give are giving Jay Cutler the benefit of the doubt because he signed the most expensive contract in the league? Let's give people the benefit of the doubt here. I agree that there are many factors that play into a ref's decisions, especially if it's a subjective call, but to think that a player being attractive is gonna noticeably affect a female ref's decisions is laughable. These refs aren't here to get dikked down or become some player's sidepiece, they're here to make money and presumably continue doing what they love, which I might add would be jeopardized by them making bonehead calls based on any illegitimate reason.

And football is a men's game? I think the Buffalo Bills, Chicago Bears, Oakland Raiders and Detroit Lions (all owned fully or partially by women) might have something to say about that.

Maybe if youre a beta fakkit like @TheNig

Normal men arent threatened by equality for women and arent scared some mean girls are gonna come in and ruin their sports

All this alpha/betta stuff, its what ever. Gender roles are being turned on their heads in these days. If you wanna call me a betta for wanting a women to be a woman instead of wanting a woman that wants to do male things so be it.

Im not saying females cant vote or anything like that but when it come out to male dominated sports i dint wanna see women out there like that.

Lol at you thinking its only thinking sports will be effected.

Nfl players dress in pink. This past year has already shown you the inequality(ray rice) in men vs women in america. But when it come to this topic, her being a female should be taken into account?:rudy:

As a man you cant even have an honest opinion of females on certain subjects or you may be ostracized.
That aint the point. Of course this is just PR but some of these comments aren't necessary. Men have been coaching women sports since forever and no one bats an eye.
How is this any different then when the rooney rule was established? The league was required to interview minorities for head coaching jobs strictly bc of the backlash from the firing of tony dungy and dennis green. Is that not PR?
You act like she's lining up against a 6'4 280 pound DE. She's reffing, something whose ability isn't determined by your gender.
Imagine that, a female speaking on female standards saying im off point.

You are arguing with your self, love. im not gonna compare race issue, such as over qualified black men unfairly being looked over to an obvious pr campaign. Funny thing is women got that much power over a sport that doesnt need them to prosper. Females should be upset that she just a pawn.

Excuse me for wanting a female to be feminine. Honestly id rather see her in the front office rather than on the feild.

I can't honestly say im not gonna check her body out. Just like females check out guys at a game. Im cool w/ that.

Just like id rather be admiring your smile rather than debating my opinion on sports. Dont mean i think less of you.

Dont know if that last sentence made sense just wanted to find a way to compliment your pretty smile.

Women want equalality when its convenient. If you think a baseball player hitting a female ump wouldnt be different than if it were a male ump, i guess we are just gonna have to agree to dis agree.

Simple fact that referencing rousey shows your ignorance. She beating up women breh smh. If she was to get her ass beat by a man in an altercation they would not look at her as an equal. It would still be a lose lose for the guy.

Id rather see a women owner than be a ref though:dwillhuh:. Guess that means my mom is a boss though.

Also we can tell who aint have a dad. Or who wore the pants in their family.:manny:

By your logic your moms was a strong woman (who proly wore the pants in the household)who could do what ever a man could do.

So. Cal
U know she gonna be standing on the sidelines with the :mjcry: look while being chewed out by a coach.

U know there's gonna be slip ups in the heat of the moment where someone is gonna say football is not a place for a woman or some deagatory statement.

Shiiiiiiittttt, this just means more fukkery for a league that's been full of it the past few years :blessed:

Welcome to the nfl, bytch :birdman:

You got some proof or are you just making retarded accusations

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarah_Thomas_(American_football_official)

Conference USA
In 2006, Gerry Austin, Conference USA's coordinator of officials and a former NFL official, invited her to an officials' camp. Austin was impressed with her skills and hired her for the Conference USA staff.[1] In 2007, Thomas became the first woman to officiate a major college football game, working a game between Memphis and Jacksonville State.[5] Before that game, Austin said, "She came highly recommended by two NFL scouts. She has a good presence and demeanor. I feel like she has the ability and courage to make a call, and the guts to not make one, too."[5]

Bowl-game breakthrough
During the 2009 season, Thomas was one of five female officials in major college football and the only one at the Football Bowl Subdivision level.[4] She was assigned to a crew and given a full schedule of 11 games.[4] At the end of the season, she was selected to work the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl between Marshall and Ohio, making her the first woman to officiate a bowl game.[5] Regarding her presence, Marshall running back and game MVP Martin Ward said "I noticed her before the game, but that was it. Once the game started, she was just doing the job that the line judge does in every game we play. It didn't matter that she was a woman at all."[6]

On November 12, 2011, Thomas became the first woman to officiate in a Big Ten stadium, working as a line judge when Northwestern hosted Rice.[7]

cheerleaders get ran over all the time, lol. i'm sure a ref is a little more prepared for it...haha. in high school you got women wrestling guys and being really good at it...and you got a few fat/dikes on the football team. and we all seen the female kicker. things are not a big deal within an agreed upon arena.

you got black refs penalizing black people for using n!gga in the nfl....not too many are messing with a ref just to get a 15yd penalty.
