Women shouldnt do everything a man does just for the sake of equality. Cause men and women arent the same.

Every standard that applies to females outside of sports kinda will appy to her on the feild.

I dont think women should judge men in a mans sport. Just like i dont think old ass male refs should be out there.

But there are women who play, watch, own, understand, work in executive positions and ref football already. And old ass man presumably shouldn't be reffing because his age hinders his ability to ref (moving around, mentally keeping up with the speed of the game, etc). None of those would be a concern for a female referee.

I said i wouldnt want old guys either. all things equal i would be more comfortable w/ a man reffing an nfl game. Just like i would prefer a woman to a nurture rather than be the provider in a family situation.

Im basing it off respect of what a man can do mentaly and physically. Just like outside of sports. Men have a level of respect for each others capabilities that women cant even fathom( thats why women abuse that privlidge).

You can ignore it if you want to just cause its a game but the male vs female dynamic is still at play its just silly men who dissmis it as" oh so what, let her ref"

Lets take baseball. If a lady umpire gets into a confrontation w/ and a player head butts, spits, chest bumps etc. or any other way to intimidate the umpire(same as he would do to male umpire) are you gonna tell me that will not be looked at different?

Are you saying women rights activists are gonna defend the player for aggresive physical contact against a female umpire?

That aint the point. Of course this is just PR but some of these comments aren't necessary. Men have been coaching women sports since forever and no one bats an eye.
How is this any different then when the rooney rule was established? The league was required to interview minorities for head coaching jobs strictly bc of the backlash from the firing of tony dungy and dennis green. Is that not PR?

I don't see any physical or mental act that comes with refereeing that prohibits the entry of women. Most of these refs aren't supreme athletes, they just gotta jog a few yards here and there. Like, if there are women police officers, I see no reason there shouldn't be women referees. I don't get the respect angle. Being a referee isn't about respecting the capabilities of an athlete, it's about enforcing the rules of the game as it's played. I don't understand the concern, as if a female ref isn't going to respect that ODB catch and rule it a non-catch or something?

I really don't think a female ump would be looked at any differently in your baseball scenario. It's 2015. Ronda Rousey is out there beating everyone up. No one's gonna faint if a female ump gets chestbumped or yelled at. Especially not the women's rights activists who have been campaigning for these barriers to be broken down, as it would be antithetical to their entire cause.

You obviously have your own perspective on the issue of gender roles though, so I think we'll ultimately just disagree
