Once they pay Mahommes, it's over.:lolbron:.

You'll see who the #1 seed in the AFC will be this season, and they reside in Foxborough.:ufdup:.

We'll see what happens. I would say if there is one team that can afford to pay a QB $40 mil/year and still be competitive, it would be the Chiefs and Mahommes. Would not work for any other QB.

And, I don't like making season predictions about the Patriots, but I think they can still absolutely win the division. I'm sure there will be a lot of Buffalo talk, but the AFC East still runs through New England.

Patriots have a brutal schedule though.

Buffalo x2
@Texans
@Chiefs
@chargers
@Rams
@Seahawks
49er's
Ravens

Still have Jets x2, Dolphins x 2, and then the Raiders/Cardinals/Broncos.

That schedule is tough as hell.

Delusional. :dead:
It's finally over. Lucky run is finished :mjlit:

So are we all in agreement that the championship team building stops the moment you pay your QB a top Contract? Seems like the spot to be in is having a QB on a rookie or cheaper deal that allows you to build other aspects of the team. Once you have to pay the QB a downward trend starts.

I agree but that puts the burden on the front office to do their jobs and find gems in the draft and sign good, discounted FA's to add depth. Trade guys that you know you can't resign instead of letting them walk.

If I'm the Chiefs it's Mahomes, Kelce, and Hill. The other skill positions are expendable. Draft their replacements.
