What is the controversy exactly?
I think there are two controversies-
1. It hasn't been tested nearly enough yet, and it doesn't look like they're going to test it thoroughly enough before making it publicly available. Anything that involves lasers burning through eyes needs a lot of care.
2. The racial entanglements that inevitably get bound up with these.
First seems valid, second seems weak.
We already have had colored contacts. Also, most white people don't have blue eyes. Don't understand.
On some X-Men 3 (horrible movie, imo) shyt, there are lots of minorities who desperately want these things. My 4 year old niece got into a blueberry eating phase because she thought if she ate enough her eyes would turn blue, and in her own words, she "hates" her brown eyes. It starts so young...
