This 6 year old sounds like he or she was functioning above his or her age level. I am assuming they are functioning like a 8 or 9 year old.
They planned to bring a gun to school
They knew the context of gun use (during conflict)
They knew how to aim the gun
They knew how to fire the gun.
I have a feeling that this child had to grow up way before their time.
