Nas, the ATL has parties in certain spots that don't stop till 6 am.

NY's main attractions are in Manhattan.

I don't think its an exaggeration. If your dumb enough to believe that you can still hit the mall at 3a.m. then yea its an "exaggeration". I used to think it was a bit exaggerated when I was younger though , but that was before I started really traveling for sports and work. I be :mindblown: when its 2-3am and McDonalds is drive thru is closed like :what: fukking gas station stores be closed. Phony ass "cities" even turn off their traffic lights, they just throw on the flashing yellow. I've never seen that happen in any borough, unless the traffic light is just not working. I honestly think that would be a dangerous idea in any borough. I've been on the A(of course), F, E, J trains after 2 am and I really can't remember a time where there werent at least 2 or 3 people on say maybe half of the cars on the train. So of course the majority of nyc is not up acting like is 3pm, but in my opinion, its still a lot more ppl up and moving than in some other other cities I've visited.

So so...the city never sleeps, tho? Like for example, I'm in atlanta right now. All the MTA is down at the moment. I think it closes at 2am (rail system....bus a bit earlier I believe) and the only thing open are a few clubs, krystals, wal-mart, kroger, gas stations but everything is pretty much winding the fukk down. Now, in NY right now @ 2:30 am? Is the city still moving?!? Are people flooding back home?! Are the street vendors still cooking overnight?!? I'm really curious b/c I'm sick of hearing about the shyt, I want someone in NY right now to come in here and tell me what the fukk is going on :merchant:

I pretty sure people in the boroughs sleep (BK, BX, QU & SI) and everything above 115th (Uptown) and below 14th (FiDi/Wall St) is probably deserted as fukk but, Midtown is wide awake :win:

When we were 18, our parents treated me & my homie to 4 days in NYC for a graduation present. We stayed in this hotel right around the corner from Broadway (Milford Plaza). So the whole weekend, we aint sleep more than 2 hours a night. Straight overdosed on the city. You gotta be there to understand, too much shyt to do :obama: I remember us going out on Sunday, 4:15 in the morning or some wild ass time and Times Sq was brimmin with thousands of people like it wasn't the middle of the night. Just sat back :drunk: eating pretzels, listening to the Black Israelites talk shyt on the man and knew I was moving to NYC after college :obama: Its fukkin expensive tho :pacspit: :pacspit: :pacspit:

Edit: Midtown cleared out for like 20 mins one of those days & we were up to catch it. Like at 5:30, it was barely anyone in Times Sq and we got some coffee & was like :win: being the only ones up. Felt that scene in I Am Legend. By 6, it started getting packed again. I remember being :mindblown: at that shyt...

The fukk yall dumbasses expect to be open 24/7

You have your fast good, diners etc open 24/7 but yall expect ecerything to be open at all times. Bars clubs usually close at 4 am and open back up in the morning. Fukk yall expect them to be open at 6am so you can pregame before you head to work? :heh:

The trains run 24/7 and a few food spots are open but thats all thats really need. I mean what else are you trying to do at like 4-6am? :wtf:

:laff: thats what I'm saying

ol "but the museum wasn't open at 3am" ass nikkas

You might want to go to the museum at 3am breh :smugfavre:

It's not an exaggeration to say the city never sleeps because it doesn't. But you do have to keep it in perspective. You can't expect to find things like a museum, retail store, 4/5-star restaurant, or Broadway show to be open at 3 in the morning. People simply aren't trying to do those things at that time of the night.

The Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens have a ton of little "hole in the wall" bars all over the place and a bunch of lounges too. Hookah, bowling alleys, pool halls, strip clubs etc. Not many clubs in the Bx, Bklyn and Queens have a few more. Of course you have 24 hour diners, food spots, and some restaurants that serve till 1 or 2. And bodegas are always open in the hood to serve you beer at 5 am lol.

Manhattan for obvious reasons has the most stuff going on, but it's not just limited to midtown. The lower east side, the village, Chelsea, midtown, upper west side, Harlem, the heights all have things to do. Most of the clubs in NYC are in Manhattan. You also have lounges, pool halls, bowling alleys, live music, hookah spots, strip clubs, and even some comedy shows and restaurants that are open till 2. Diners and food spots are open either 24 hours or real late as well. Also NYC being the "hub" for jazz in America, there are an abundance of jazz clubs.

I don't know anything about Staten Island. :manny:

But yeah the fact that there's something to do every night of the week that can have you out till 6 am in NYC is what you should take away from this post. And if necessary, public transit will be running 24/7 so you can get home.

"the city never sleeps"

think about when that reputation was earned. it was like 40 years ago. you have to think about the frame of reference back then.

a normal town back in those days...it was like a fukking ghost town soon as the sun went down. all the businesses were closed...everyone was home. the fact that even some food places were still open was :mindblown: to everyone visiting new york. still holds true in new york to this day. whatever you're looking for you can pretty much find any time of the day there. they got tax services 24/7...fukkin cleaners open 24/7...etc. thats all they're talkin about.

Truth is most NYC hotspots liquor license's end at 4am. If they can't serve alcohol they're not making bread. :whoo:

But you don't want to part of that 4am crowd of drunken tourist zombies unless u thirsting.

At that point every dude thinks he's a ufc fighter, every ugly azz chick think shes a defensive linesmen.:whoa:

The only reason to head into central park at that time is to take a leak. No one dumb enough except tourists to stroll around the park at that time then complain when they get jacked by a russian crackhead.:dead:

Catching a cab is a bytch & the subways are all screwed up at that time... but real talk: Its worth it. :whew:

Dem halal guys got the gryo game on lock at that point. :krs:

The whole "NYC never sleeps" is a bit of an exaggeration. After 2AM or so you will still find people outside down near times square loitering for small comedy acts in apartments some comedians got together and put on a show.

Other than that? You have diners, a couple of locations such as Hard Rock Cafe still open, Apple Store on 5th avenue still open, and a couple of spots here and there and clubs of course. This is all mostly in midtown manhattan. Anywhere below...like Chelsea you will find McDonald's, couple of big pharmacies still open and thats about it. Uptown Manhattan has smoke shops open 24 hours and a couple of grocery stores.

The other boroughs pretty much shut down completely outside of a nearby smoke shop, convenience stores, or clubs. You might find a restaurant open really late, but doubtful the further away from manhattan you are. Your best bet at this time would be a McDonald's or something to grab something to eat.

The whole "City Never Sleeps" thing is basically from about 33rd street and 8th avenue up to about 59th street and 5th avenue. You can always stop by Central Park and will find a group down there...or maybe even catch a horse n carriage ride if you are into that with a couple of hot dog vendors/gyro vendors still out. Your best bets for nightlife in NYC is Manhattan or Brooklyn. The Bronx and Queens shut down....I honestly cannot even comment on Staten Island because I have not been there in years.

You got train service spread throughout, but nothing really popping off in the outer boroughs as I said before. I think the A train which services most of manhattan runs local at night.
You live in NYC? WHAT about the meatpacking district? That is below 14 st, what about Soho and Tribeca ? Those are all places open, not to mention chinatown.
