The musical performances being filled with the trash we've been hearing lately?
full

Probably won't even have performances in the show anymore
full

Gritty 90s NYC being replaced with gentrified hipster dwellings
full

Any social commentary will be extremely heavy handed to appear "woke"
full

There will likely be no jazz horns in the intro
full

The potential cornballs they're going to cast as JC and Eddie
full

Let it die :scust:

Social commentary...:laff::laff: breh social commentary is watered down on tv just like music now a days.

The social commentary now is nothing like the 90s, 80s and 70s. The networks or streaming bull shyt can't even touch the subjects on news casts, public access and documentaries that they had back in the day.

I think that too much has changed for it to recapture the original. The thing was that they looked like street dudes but they were cops. They fit with that whole aura of gritty NYC. But the streets themselves have changed, so the premise wouldn't be as authentic. Unless they make it more of going after older kingpins instead of midlevel and street happenings. In the end, I think that it would be so different that they may as well call it something else.

Not only that fox whole set up then was to go against the grain because it was a new network. Now a days everything is about following trends and not upsetting folks.

Also what made NY undercover so hot was that you would here artist that never got play on the radio.

Like another poster here said it would be like if they showed the reboot today and westside gunn & Conway was on there.

We all know that the music will be heavy on radio play kats. Nor will be get the legends like on the original when they had kats like B.B King and etc on the show.

shyt gonna be watered down.

Nypd blue is coming back?

My pops loved that show. Sipowitz is a great tv charCter tho i looked it up, the shows about his son and him solving his fathers murder

Neither these shows are truly these shows without the same cast.

If there is anyone that develops television series that I trust, its dikk Wolf. he is the same cat behind NYPD Blue and Law and Order

Yeah he knows what he’s doing. But the question is will it fit modern nyc? Yes there are still parts of the city that look like they did 20 years ago but not many.

They should just rename it Bronx Undercover cuz at least it would remind you of the old show

Starring Desus and Mero :king:

yes to Bronx Undercover. No to Desus and Mero. They can barely do a podcast much less a TV show with some real writing. Make it a full cast of unknowns and magically try to find a way to capture the vibe of Natalies

They’ve been campaigning for a reboot for years.

Besides I’ve always felt they shoulda made this into a movie like what happened with 21/22 Jump Street

What’s never worked

He probably means reboots, but that's not accurate.

It has worked, it's just an anomaly, especially considering that clip of reboots. In the past few years, Voltron (3rd reboot), DuckTales, Sabrina I guess you can say are having different levels of success.

Yeah tv reboots and movie reboots have worked before. All to varying degrees of success.
