Dont quote me...I don't f with you anymore . And everybody on here that spoke on the actual issues said what needed to be said. Not repeating, that commenter is a dumb fuk on a baiting attention grab in a weak attempt to instigate with his petty shot , other wise he would have stayed on the topic of concern. And you stay on some other shyt, Neither one of you are worth responding to. Dubs. You get it started your damn self...that's what you're good at . I'm busy doing other things today.

read and comment on that actual article when I have time. This is not just a new york issue and it's not about me or the other posters names you mentioned, don't start no shyt with us; this is an abuse of power, political and corporate interests, racism and greed taking place throughout every city, USA. At least those involved and affected in this NY incident had the foresight and awareness to bring media attention to these corrupt practices for what they are and whoever is in position to implement legal authority over this.

Ronald Callender, a Barbadian immigrant who worked as a mechanic on Atlantic Avenue, bought the rent stabilized apartment building in 1968, kept it during the city’s lean years, paid it off and left it to his son and two daughters under the name Gilmer Holding Corp.

However, the son, who was named executor of the estate mismanaged the building and several months ago, the two daughters enlisted their first cousin, Lamarr Jones, a graduate of finance from the prestigious historically black school, Morehouse College to come in and straighten things out.
replace Barbadian with Jamaican immigrant and that's the story of multiple people (parents, aunts and uncles) in my family except so far no property has been passed to the younger generation to mismanage as yet. It's coming soon though but from what I can tell, my cousins have their heads on straight and won't fukk up the legacy. I know my parents feel confident that I won't piss away their hard work because of how I operate with my own finances.

the mismanagement bothers me more than the city. your parents bless you with a damn good start to build on and you fukk it up. your father wasn't rich, he was a blue collar worker who saved his money and invested in property when everyone else was fleeing and calling NYC a dying city. the rewards of toughing out the 70s and 80s is supposed to be this.

Bu bu bu bu bu let's vote ourselves out of oppression instead of having Economic power
How does this statement make sense in the context of these situations. These people have ownership of their property and the money to continue proper management of it but the people that gained power through votes are taking things from them in spite of their money. The people in the second article only kept their property due to intervention by an elected official and their knowledge and use of the system. We need money and votes, it's not an either or thing.

This is no surprise. NYC basically is one of the blueprints in America for institutional racism. They usually experiment in places like NYC or Atlanta what they plan on doing nationwide or sometimes worldwide using the have nots (blacks, gays, and etc) as their guinea pigs. Gentrification is no different. One thing I hate is how I notice all these "activists" or people who claim they care about injustices turning around and supporting a problem which leads to social injustice. They literally have the power to stop an issue but they do nothing or contribute towards the problem.

But Coli Brehs don't see the point in voting

they just like bytching and complaining after the fact

if brehs don't learn how to deal with these devils on their court they are finished. Stop sleeping on politics even locally. The first family nearly got got because of a stupid clown not being on top of paperwork. they are waiting for you to slip up and get comfortable.

Knowing your rights is a definite...that's where at...

Money eventually conquers votes...:francis:

The votes can get your people in office, but how many elected officials gonna turn down some hush money to change zoning laws or try and do some underhanded shyt?

The end game isn't to take all at once, it's to take just enough where the voters can say at least so and so put up a fight:mjgrin:....most humans in general are scared of risk, so that's how you end up with multi year politicians who do just enough to keep the people quiet while getting his/her hush money

The lesser of 2 evils mentality:francis:

Then some months later, they talking about rent being 1200 for 1 bed in their city:heh:

The energy is completely different :dead:
