Then it went from Sony would never

Absolutely no one said this though. You’re trying to conflate two different issues. A good portion of the games sony released since the launch of the ps5 have been made by 3rd party developers, no one in their right mind would ever think or wish for sony to not find 3rd party partnerships to make games.

In fact most people are waiting on baited breath to hear what Bluepoints next game for Sony is. What makes the Crystal Dynamics/Initiative partnership stand out is the fact that CD is a AAA developer not a support studio, and they are signing on to work on the game two years after it was announced.

What is happening with CD and the initiative exactly:jbhmm:

What is happening with twisted metal?

Both of these instances are companies outsourcing.

Y'all are trying to make one seem worse than the other when it's Sony and Microsoft outsourcing at the onset of a games development.

We already know these games get outside assistance.

Peoples whole point was 1st party publishers get there games out sourced.

Then it went from Sony would never

To the developers would never

To the developers get help toward the end to clean up the games.:heh:

Which all comes back around to 1st party publishers get there games outsourced.:manny:
Okay, say company Y has an IP that's been dormant for a while, but all of their own in-house teams/studios are busy on games of their own, so they decide to recruit an outside party to develop the game.

And you have company X, which has a dormant IP that they give to their 'AAAA' in-house studio, only they have to bring in a 3rd party years later to help that 'AAAA' studio complete development of that project.

You don't see the difference here?

Yall are wild
Years later bruh?

We got a CGI trailer of PD last year in December :mjlol: They told us its not even in pre alpha development yet. And now yearrrrrssss aka 10 months they actually announced there outsourcing partner and ohhhh boy they must be in trouble.

To top it off we know they are a small team heavy on lead talent, soooo where they going to be getting all this developer power from to just instantly start a game?:jbhmm:

Nothing coming out the initiative should be expected anytime soon by anyone, I don't expect perfect dark to well into 2025 at best.

What a fukking bizarre comparison.

A company getting a small third party developer to make a new game based on an old IP is perfectly normal. Nintendo do it all the time, as do Sony - they did it with Sackboy last year for example.

One first party developer (The Initiative) getting one of the biggest third party studios out there (CD) to 'support' them is really fukking random, and a lot less common. It reflects badly on either TI or CD imo.
