An early adopter enjoyed the thing they bought for years. Only time early adopters lose is if they overpaid for something higher than the MSRP and the thing had barely any support e.g. buying an XB1 for $500 with Kinect only for the Kinect to be largely discontinued mere months later and have it's price reduced thereby paying extra for an unneeded bundle.

Nintendo always updates their consoles throughout the console's life cycle, especially handhelds. The good thing is games will likely be compatible with all versions.

I expected them to roll out a better model soon probably with a larger screen. This is the Nintendo way...they still pumping out new 2DS models

OG model is weak, I saw it choke on Mr Shifty and Overcooked. The Nintendo in house stuff plays well though.

I regret buying a switch at launch though.
