Great interview, Pete's wealth of music/hip-hop knowledge is so massive Combat Jack could have a week long series building with this brother about his career and experiences.

that cat A.D.O.R. had some bangers, "Enter The Center" by Pete Rock was cool, but the BaBanzi Remix is :banderas:.

:wtf: nikkas really didn't know Pete produced "We Got The Jazz"??? That shyt is still butta til this day :ahh:. Not surprised Q-Tip bytch ass snaked him for that beat tho, just glad he got his just due and recognition for it.

I wish Pete would of had the oppurtunitty to discuss more aspects of his career such as Building with 9th Wonder, the INI sessions, the album with Ed O.G., the Future Flavas unreleased gems,

And Biggie was right that joint "Rap World" with Large Pro is a phenomenal track, that joint gets rotation til this day.

:russ: @ Pete Rock saying he wanted to smack fire outta Just Blaze for staring at him while he was digging.

Listened to the first hour last night, will finish tonight after work
:blessed:

I'd love to hear his opinion on the "Nas beat selection" argument. Nas hand picked sample records for Illmatic, knew exactly what he wanted to rap over...and it worked perfect. Since then his beat selection has been quite hit or miss, and I wonder how Rock feels about it as a producer.

I remember Large Professor saying Nas knows what he's doing when he picks beats. He purposely picks lesser beats sometimes because he wants people to listen to the words and not get caught up in the rhythm
