:francis:Puerto Rico is still recovering and feeling the effects of Hurricane Maria

the testimony of people on the ground there will crush your soul, just like with Katrina, and that's with "aid".

Damn almost 15 years ago...hopefully this don't repeat with a worse prez and congress in office :snoop:

It’s actually just a flash flood. People on social media blowing shyt up as per usual. The storm isn’t projected to make land fall until this weekend somewhere between Lafayette and Lake Charles,

Heavy amounts of rain fell in a short period of time. It hasn’t rained in 3 weeks. Most places would flood. Most of the water in the city has been pumped away.

The biggest and scariest issue isn’t the rainfall, it’s the Mississippi River rising above 20’ ( the height of the levees)if the surge from the storm flows up the mouth of the river. The river usually crest this time me of year, but we normally don’t get disturbances in the Gulf this early .....

Contrary to popular belief the city didn’t flood from rainfall during Katrina..... the man made levees breached causing the city flood.

In case you wondering

The city is full of above ground pumping stations, that pump the water through canals and bayous out to the lake. The problem was/is the city not having enough pumps working to handle a heavy quick rainfall. They city says that 118 out of 120 pumps are working today ... I hope they’re not lying this time.

Delta Sigma Theta suppose to have their national convention this weekend out there. Might have to do a pickup of some folks if cancelled. If its flooded and weather is crazy, how the hell am I going to get into New Orleans?? :patrice:

The city is still open breh. Them Deltas ain’t canceling their convention. They’ll be out there in Delta Ponchos and Rain boots.

It would be wise to have a plan b if your plan on coming into town this weekend.
