Why nobody getting behind Sheff G n Sleepy Hallow?
Sheff G lowkey had mixtape/album of the year last year fam

They the nicest out of NY I feel right now

They’re independent.

On top of that they’re not doing anything different or unique.

Sheff has star potential imo. I’m a fan of both so I’m not hating.

I think Sheff and Sleepy should be an official duo

That’s unique and missing from the game and they could maximize their abilities together

they have support from a few DJs and a solid core of fans too but it seems like u need a viral hit to really get on and get consistent play coming out of the city

am I the only one who likes sheff g by himself better than him with sleepy? :lupe:

nice of the kid at Pitchfork to give YL a little write up.
his music been nice for well over a year now and his brother is a good photographer.

(that Aime Leon Dore - Woolrich collab jacket's nice)

The Ones: YL’s “Blown Away”

New York winter is bleak. Most of the time is spent waiting around in freezing temperatures for buses and trains that may never come. Manhattan rapper YL’s conversational verses are perfect for the dreary cold weather, as he finds brightness even during days that fly by without much happening. His lyrical and fashion-forward style—Yankee caps with the World Series patch on the side and jackets ready for the harshest weather—fit within a New York rap scene that’s rooted in the city’s past while still being modern. “Yeah you was very late, at least you showed up, I can’t front,” he says optimistically on “Blown Away,” the intro to That Was Then, the latest EP in a string of self-released records. Over a beat that sounds like a luxurious daydream, he raps about the small things—something good to smoke on, phone calls with a girl. Like everyone else in the city, he’ll make it through the winter just fine.

off the That Was Then EP

i like that mature sound
