The timing, of course, is fraught on a number of levels—league play is at an all-time high, as a new generation of international superstars (S.G.A., Wemby, Jokic, Ant-Man) come into their own; the league’s traditional partners are all operating in a complex post-ZIRP media environment; and live sports remain the last bastion of the linear ecosystem. These "predictions" are funny as hell... I said months ago that NBA will have games on a streaming platform because NASCAR already showed everyone where this was leading by striking a deal with four partners that included streaming. Then Netflix came in and bought WWE RAW later on.

NBA is likely going to have games on ESPN, TNT and then maybe NBC and also Amazon.

You'll be looking for a random Lakers/Thunder game on a Wednesday night and find out that the shyt is exclusive to Amazon lol.

How much time do you guys spend watching NBA games in an average week?
:patrice:Maybe highlights if something catches attention (wemby going 40/20, lebron 9/10 from 3, etc.)

None during football season, when the season starts during playoffs might catch a couple games.. But dont really pay attention to preseason in jan-march.

The problem for the NBA and these other sports leagues in general is that those streamers are more data and analytics driven and won't hesitate to put their foot on their necks if they don't feel they're getting their ROI investment. They also might end up in a situation where the deal is shorter with more potential opt outs compared to their TV counterpart.

If what Cuban is saying is true, then that means that these companies are starting to pull back when it comes to television rights.
