Knicks are not good enough to charge those prices. :mjlol:

Only team that could get away with it recently is the Curry Warriors during their championship runs.

On court performance is not necessarily correlated with valuation and profitability of a team. Prior to the Knicks' playoff run in recent years when the Knicks were horrible, MSG was still packed and ticket prices among the highest in the league.

Does it hurt to be a great winning team like GS? No it definitely helps but if you are a mediocre team in a major market your team value still increases regardless of on court performance

Team valuations for the big 4 north American sports have continued to increase regardless of team performance. Almost all owners who sold their teams have experienced value appreciation.

There is a pretty good chance ppl Knicks fans will line up to pay for these streaming subscriptions creating another revenue stream outside of TV money, sponsors, and GameDay revenue (ticket sales) and merch

I'm doubtful. Paying for a MSG ticket every once in a while is different from paying a monthly subscription. Getting a ticket to the game is like a night out with the fam or girlfriend. It's different from getting a monthly subscription to on often subpar product like the Knicks.

You are underestimating the brand of professional sports and how less discretionary/sticky spending on sports has become over the years (wars, terrorist attacks, inflation) spending either stay on par or increase.

Supporters of a team are called fans short for fanatics for a reason.

:skip: Subpar? Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson are the best show in town.

With other small sport broadcasting companies going belly up and the crackdowns in pirated streams shyt slowly getting dark for sport watchers.

Dolla signs for NBA though :manny:

I don't want Amazon :snoop:

And should they shorten the season? It's been 82 forever... and ratings would have their lows and highs. Regular season ratings were very high from 2015-2018

Just buckle down on load management if possible

Less games doesn't solve anything.

ACL tear will still be a year
Ankle sprain will still be two weeks

They should run the covid schedule long term. Each team only plays in two cities per week.

True, but less games could mean less odds of it happening. But that also means loss of revenue for teams.
