Man the place is beautiful...definitely a great road trip place..I’ve been to the white sands , Santa Fe..all over...now seeing a black person is like finding 20 dollars on the ground or seeing a midget...so that’s kind strange

New Mexico gets its name from when explorer came thru the area where the state now is and things that to them look familiar to the area they just passed (Mexico). So they called the area Nuevo Mexico.

My fiance's sister lived is Albuquerque and his mother always talks about the gang activity and crime.

I speak Spanish, I'll be fine.

Crime in Albuquerque isn't great, but I've lived in Milwaukee, Chicago and Gary so I'll be fine.

Santa Fe, Las Cruces, and Roswell are nicer places to live, but I've been a big city person my whole life

yeah ABQ is the only way to go imo . Santa Fe is nice and beautiful in the winter. Las Cruces is close enough to El Paso, and Roswell is a big ass NOPE . Ruidoso for honorable mention .

Next time you talk to your pop, tell him ya homeboy said sorry for the pain he had to go through during his af career lol. I remember when I first got stationed there, my coworker was like "welcome....to the place where dreams come to die". I thought dude was being funny but I know a lot of people who just get stuck there. shyt I almost didn't make it out myself. I got orders to go to eglin and I packed my suburban up and left as quick as i could. Got about 20 minutes outside the city and.....I had a blow out. That was on a sunday. I was thinking, fukk this place got a curse and aint never gonna let me go.

I go several times a year there. The rest of my wife family over there scattered. I usually go rio Rancho tho since her uncle always throwing huge parties at his house there.

Upped and quoted for your opinions, I received a job offer to work at a hospital near Sante Fe. I am only considering this offer because they are going to pay a portion of my school loans, but I will owe them 2 years of my life. Any input would be appreciated.
