biggest thing I respect about Mac is even though some of his stuff is hit or miss for me, I think it's super dope that he always made whatever he wanted to make. I feel like he just went whichever way the wind carried him. He had a lot of musical styles without seeming like he was trying too hard. And even if some of it didn't resonate with me (some of the early frat rap stuff was goofy) almost none of it sounds trash.

he also had a sweet soul, he was a very likeable guy, just had issues with drugs and it cost him. His tinydesk is GOAT tier.

There was a period where I wasn't messing with his sound, was a bit more poppy. Prolly around the time he was with ariana grande
