I don't consider He Got Game a hood movie. It's a biographical/coming of age film (loosely based on Marbury).

Colors isn't a hood movie either. It's a twisted interpretation of the gang scene in Los Angeles. I cringe watching it especially after reading Do or Die (book about gangbanging in LA).
We need to have a thread about what is and isn't a hood movie.

Meagan Good hasn't had much of career to lose anything. Fishburne and Bassett can take a bad role. Luke went from Antwone Fisher in his first movie to Biker Boyz the next year. He should have kicked his agent's ass for that. That's how you stall momentum as a Black up and coming actor.
