Felt like Kenny/Ishii went on forever with nothing really happening. It was like 15 minutes of nothing happening, a few big spots, then a 12 minute finishing stretch that was basically doing what they were doing in the first 15 minutes but faster/harder. I enjoyed their previous two matches a lot more. Overall, night 2 felt more like a B level NJ show, what with the extra tags, comedy title matches, match 7000 of the Romero vs Bucks feud, etc.

:yeshrug: I really liked their previous matches, wasn't feeling adding an extra 10-15 minutes to them just to have suitably "epic" main event. That's been an issue all year for me with NJPW. Big Match Kenny shouldn't be allowed to go a half hour or more, because he just ends up with a lot of filler when he wants to do cool spotz instead. Just skip to the spots if you're going to do nothing for half the match to get there, imo.

The match went on for another almost 10 minutes after the table spot, most of which was just strike battles back and forth. The super ultra Meltzer Driver not being a finish also irked me.

Ishii/Omega was great live. I give a 4 1/4-1/2.

Finished night 1. It came off better on TV as a whole show. Page/Lethal was better than watching it live.

Page feels random as hell both being in the BC at all, and being in the tournament. What has he done in NJ to deserve being in the tournament? I don't think I've ever seen him in something other than random 6-8 man tags before night 1 in NJ.

JR called Ishii/Omega a classic.

JR called random 3 minute Raw matches in 1998 a classic, too. I don't trust the opinion of a dude getting paid to tell me how good a match really was. I think pretty objectively the previous 2 Ishii/Omega matches were better, and I'm not sure I'd call either of them "classics" even though I liked them a whole lot.

Didn't YOU say any match that didn't have Dlo or Xpac sucked? :mjlol:

And you also said HBK only had 4 good matches from 95-98? :mjlol:

I'm not sure what any of that has to do with saying I don't trust JR's judgement to say something's great and a classic when he's being paid by the promotion to say it, AE shyt being a big example what with all the absolute DOGshyt he called the greatest of all time back then.
