Nah...not sure where you're from but if anything that was the only album of kendrick that the streets weren't bumping
Right. DAMN had more pull outside for Kendrick until GNX dropped. In fact that black panther soundtrack gave him a lot of running room. Minus a few big singles Kendrick’s career suffers ALOT.

At least I'm black.
Facts. Ditto. ATL was not on Kendrick in GKMC. Only people rocking with it were online blog heads and even then people didn’t really LOVE it like that. That’s why you had a bunch of people who wanted “real rap” back who placed all those expectations onto it.

I keep telling you. Cole drake and Kendrick were the only three keeping the shyt alive when the industry was dying. These were A-/B+ artists in. A C-/D+ era!

I was outside too. So I don’t know what u trying to say. What Kendrick album got crazy burn in the streets if it wasn’t GKMC?
DAMN.

TPAB was pure art project shyt. Again, outside of ALRIGHT Kendrick was cold out here.

I’m not trying to take away from his artistic credibility but this is why Drake is where he is. This shyt is a business. While everyone likes to claim they’re pure creatives and what not…someone had to keep the lights on and keep shyt moving by crossing lanes and building bridges. Kendrick wasn’t doing that. Mind you, kendrick TRIED with pop cross overs but THE STREETS weren’t messing with Kendrick until this beef IMO. It started with DAMN. He gained more with the Black Panther soundtrack and now Kendrick is getting play in black clubs. Not fancy black events but STREET spots.

Bro. That’s MAYBE 3 joints that even black radio in the south were moving. Especially even Jay z had to push rhe Vibe remix. Poetic justice had Drake. So I’ll give you swimming pools.

That’s it. Everything else was blog era hype (not saying bad) and online discourse.

If it wasn’t for SoundCloud and online mic shows, idk where Kendrick’s b-side catalog takes him.
