This morning in San Francisco, Terry Collins told reporters Johan Santana will pitch bullpen sessions both today and on Sunday.

Collins did not indicate whether or not Santana would come off the disabled list when eligible, although earlier this week, Collins said Santana should be ready to pitch either August 8 or 9 against the Marlins.

Santana was placed on the disabled list on July 21 with an ankle injury that he sustained in a start against the Cubs before the All-Star Break.

Since injuring his ankle, Santana is 0-3 with a 13.51 ERA in three starts.

Josh Thole will begin his 5th season here next year. Outside of a few stretches where he looked like he might be a Luis Castillo clone .300 slap hitter, he's been pretty awful across the board. Average defensively (could be worse, could be slightly better not sure) average arm, no power to speak of, probably the slowest player in the league... He's legitimately a no tool player.

yet... his job is as safe as anyone's on the team. At worst he's in a platoon next season with some new scrap heap scrub we hate by June. He's not good, and yet, he seems to get a pass. People fire such venom at guys like Murphy(unwarranted) Bay (warranted) Pelf (half and half) etc. yet you never see any tweets from beat writers about Thole's struggles, no one in the front office ever talks about him, shyt, Gary Keith and Ron never even really throw backhaded comments at him.

He sucks... and he's probably the best catcher this team has produced in 20 years. That is so fukkin pathetic. Outside of starting pitching, i fukkin hate our farm.

I was going to say Hundley but he was called up 22 years ago, this franchise is a fukking joke. Though the SNY crew is starting to call him out a bit. I don't watch like I used to but I read a week or so ago, Darling really laid into Thole. And Keith has been critical of his pitch calling. His pitch calling does suck.

Jason Bay might officially be my least favorite Met ever

I hated Roberto Alomar and Carlos Baerga but Bay is on another level

Thole is up there as well :pacspit:

I really do hope this FO spends money this off-season, we're close, and it's frustrating to see Wright waste his best years playing for a mediocre franchise. :to:
